Item No. 4: Pattern Welded Leaf Bladed Dagger with Star Ruby
Item No. 4 is a GORGEOUS Leaf Bladed dagger in 1095 and L-6 steels with a smattering of meteoric iron...The double edged blade is in a "Ladder" pattern and is 11 3/4" long. The mounts are phosphor bronze. This dagger screams elegance...
The blade pattern is easily seen and shows great contrast and "character". This is a beautful dagger.
The hilt is mounted with a piece of Pre-World War One "Horn" Bakelite. Bakelite is a very interesting material and he "old stuff" is highly sought after. It is a beautiful material when properly worked and polished. Unique and eye catching this grip is all hand fluted without he use of any jigs or mechanical devices.
The sheath's throat is set with a very nice Star Ruby that I hand cut myself that weighs in at 46.30 carats..It does show a very distinct 6 point star under direct natural light. It must be seen "in the flesh" to truly appreciate this stone.
The sheath is very dark Oxblood red and has phosphor bronze mounts. The OAL is 16 3/4". This is simply a exquisite piece of the Bladesmith's art. Quite a bit fancier than what I usually make, that's for certain. Visually striking and eye catching.

Item No 6: Pattern Welded Shortsword
Item No 6 is a pattern welded shortsword in 1070 and L6 steels. The ladder pattern blade is 22 3/8" long with one 1/2 blade length fuller on each side. The red Coco-Bolo grip, while gorgeous, well I wasn't paying as much attention as I should of and well..the grain is running across the grip, not along its length! Makes for a very unique grip[..I will say that!
Still this is a very attractive sword with the forged phosphor bronze guard and pommel.. The contrast and pattern on this blade is very eye catching...OAL is 29 3/8". This sword is fast and highly responsive in the hand.. Black sheath

Item No.7: Pattern Welded Dagger with Star Ruby
Item No 7 is a GORGEOUS Pattern Welded dagger with a 12" long double edged blade that is 1 1/4" wide in a "Ladder" pattern, welded from 1095 and L-6 steels with a smattering of meteoric iron thrown in just because I could. This dagger is simply beautiful. This is a real eye catcher, that's for sure.
The blade patterning is easily due to the great contrast between the materials used. The "Ladder" pattern is almost serpentine in its appearance . VERY nice blade on this one.
The grip is made for some Pre World War One Bakelite. This is the "Horn" Bakelite and well..I am very impressed with this material even though it is a bit of a challenge to work it does come out quite lovely, and he hand fluting just enhances the beauty of his material. The fittings are phosphor bronze
The leather sheath is very dark Oxblood red and has phosphor bronze mounts. The throat is set with a 36.71 carat Star Ruby that I hand cut myself. The photo does not do justice to this dagger at all. The ruby shows a beautiful six pointed star under direct light. Breathtaking piece indeed.
This really is a beautiful dagger that is breathtaking in its overall presentation. A true one of a kind piece on so many levels...
OAL is 17 1/.4".
