Item No JS 01 is a very NICE Katana, one that Jim was keeping for himself as he wanted to have one each of every blade style he made..alas.. medical bills changed that,..Anyway..This is a VERY NICE sword.

Forged from 1070 steel in the Uno-Kobe Shobu Zukuri blade style...the blade is 28" in length with two (2) Bo-Hi on each side.

The Hamon is very bright and vibrant. there is a lot of activity along the Shibuchi line with easily seen "frost"

 The fittings are phoenix themed with gold and silver leaf details. 

 The tsuka is  `10 3/4" in length with black samwe-gawa under gold and black chevron pattern silk ito. It is secured with two (2) mekugi.

 The wood siya is finished with red gold leaf under black cracked lacquer and sealed with 6 coats of hard lacquer.

This sword handles beautifully  and has a very "solid" feel in the hand. I will say again..this is a  VERY NICE sword. Scary sharp!  Overall length of 39 1/2"
